We know that it can be hard to get advice and treatment for pelvic mesh problems. We know that women have reported having issues getting help quickly and effectively with the NHS whose budgets are stretched right now.<\/p>\n

Slow referrals can lead to prolonged suffering, which women should not have to endure. There\u2019s also the issue over what appears to be a lack of specialist knowledge in some areas of the NHS, and a lack of focus on the long-term data that we already have is reportedly not being carefully considered.<\/p>\n

The result is that some women have felt like they have been left in limbo when their mesh device has failed. Some women feel that they have not had enough treatment or investigations to resolve complications and problems<\/strong><\/a>. We know that, in some cases, it can be impossible to fully remove failed mesh devices; but that doesn\u2019t mean that safe treatment options shouldn\u2019t be explored.<\/p>\n

What we can do<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Although we wish that we could, we cannot turn back time. What has happened has happened, and in some cases, some patents will be left with complications and problems for life<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n

But there are options for better treatment for pelvic mesh issues and, in some cases, we may be able to help.<\/p>\n

When you make a claim, you have a duty to mitigate your losses. This means that you should take steps to reduce any suffering, and the most common way of doing this is with treatment. If you’re not getting fast and effective treatment with the NHS, there’s the option for private treatment. And if this will help, it can be included as part of a case because it will ultimately (hopefully) reduce your suffering.<\/p>\n

If paying for treatment means that you can recover better, you\u2019re mitigating your losses. But you shouldn\u2019t be expected to just pay for the treatment yourself because that would leave you out of pocket. And that\u2019s where we may be able to assist.<\/p>\n

Claiming for private treatment for pelvic mesh<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In some cases, you may be able to claim for any losses and expenses incurred through the need for private treatment for pelvic mesh.<\/p>\n

It could be that you pay for treatment and then include a reimbursement as part of a case, or it may be that you include the provisional costs for it and settle a claim to then use that money for treatment. You may even be able to ask for the money to be paid early as part of an interim payment from the Defendant so you can access the treatment earlier. Where they have admitted liability for a case, there shouldn\u2019t be any reason as to why they wouldn\u2019t be able to do this.<\/p>\n

Whether this is feasible of not will, of course, depend on the outcome of a case.\u00a0 Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that in every case we can achieve this, and some claims can be hard to win.
